Running Out Of Hard Drive Space?
Have you had your cheap desktop computer long enough to be running out of hard drive space? That loud thud you heard was the price of hard drive storage falling. The prices have become so affordable there is no reason not to have plenty of hard drive space.
Don't be afraid you might mess something up. Adding a hard drive can be as simple as plugging in a power connection and then plugging a cable into a USB port. Right now, I have almost a terabyte (TB) of storage added via USB connections. One of the added benefits is being able to take your external hard drive to your laptop and simply plugging it in. You can take all of your photos and show Grandma when you go for your annual visit. If you have a camcorder, you can get enough storage space to store many of your videos. You could really impress Grandma with that!
A special benefit to this is that you are able to back up portions or your entire system to one of these external hard drives. I saw a 1.5TB system advertised for $129 the other day. Just so you know, a terabyte (TB) is 1,000,000,000,000 bytes. Man (or lady) that is a heap of storage.
Of course, adding an internal drive is just a little bit harder, but hey! If I can do it, so can you!!
